Dorrigo Tourism Options

Don’t wait till you get here to plan your stay. Almost everyone who stays with us says they wish they had stayed longer. Dorrigo is a hidden gem – surrounded by 9 national parks, two of them World Heritage listed. Mount Christopherson is only one and a half hour’s drive from each of the cities – Coffs Harbour, Armidale and Grafton.

To check out the options available, start with the National Parks Their stunning new website is so easy to follow, to find all the parks in our area.

Next, check out what’s on in Dorrigo and Bellingen and other things to do in our area.

Coffs Coast Marketing produces the wonderful 101 things to do guidebook which gives a great overview of all sorts of free and paid activities you can enjoy in the Coffs Coast area, which includes Dorrigo and Bellingen.

Armidale is a totally different city – a real Australian country city focussed on the University, its private schools, sheep and cattle. There is a lot to see on a day trip, or you might want to make it a stopover if you’re driving north to Dorrigo. Have a look at the Armidale Tourism website, or download their app.

Finally, Grafton is another very different Australian country city, mostly centred on sugarcane, timber and cattle. It’s famous for its Jacaranda Festival in October-November. You can find lots of things to do on the Clarence Tourism website. If you’re driving south, you could make a stop here.

If you’re into speed, and don’t want to take the time to drive and walk, why not take a helicopter ride from Coffs Harbour with Precision Helicopters. They can show you all the gorges, escarpments and national parks from the air in one trip. They can even land at Mount Christopherson.
